Restore the Office of Air, Noise, and Radiation. Regan defunded all of the government's noise projects and labs. We are a third world country when it comes to noise control and prevention of noise-induced hearing loss. We were looked up to by the rest of the world until 1982 when our programs were shut down. The line item for the Noise Office is still a line item in the budget. Put some money and program back in.

Increase tax rates for those earning $400,000 and above, starting at 50% and gradually increasing to 90% for the wealthiest earners- $10 million and up. Maintain these rates until the National Debt is paid off. Make the rate of taxation for investment income equal to the personal income tax rate. Eliminate all tax exceptions for large corporations and for the Upper 1% of earners.

Pass a law stating that no vote for legislation is valid unless the proposed law has been personally and completely read by the Congressman voting. No one should EVER say, 'vote for it and find out what's in it'. This dereliction of duty must be stopped.

Spend more 8 billion on education and family planning to keep developing nations from becoming worse sink holes of overpopulation hunger, malnutrition, terrorism, and dysfunction. This can be done without busting the budget by cutting spending on nuclear weapons and weapons in general at the Pentagon, whose budget is a bloated subsidy of arms purveyors.

We need to be taking care of the men and women that are coming home, FIRST! Before sending more troops overseas. Stop treating our Vets like 2nd class citizens and treat them like the like the people that dedicated and risked their lives to protect the USA. We as USA citizens. Shouldn't have to start 3rd party companies. To help take care of the Vets that are ignored and pushed on the back burner. By the VA! Take care of the soldiers we have NOW! Before creating new ones and putting more at risk

Cut military spending 5% per year for at least the next 10 years. Redirect a portion of remaining military spending to worldwide disaster relief planning & deployment. Implement a National Opinion Collection System. This system captures the voice of every citizen about important national priorities without any bias. The system then organizes the answers and publishes the results for anyone to see. Since it is a comprehensive collection, and not a poll, legislators can be held responsible for voting the will of the people. It also allows citizens to report how well the government is implementing the law.

No out of state money should be allowed on elections unless out of state people can vote in that election. If John Doe can )contribute money to help an out of state candidate (US senator or rep) because he/she could help the cause if elected than why not be able to vote for that person? If it is a federal position, they make laws & policies that affect everyone. If you can't vote for him/her then you shouldn't be able to financially support him/her either.

Give the Supreme Court a 2-year Term (like Congress). They may be eligible for re-election, but they can spend NO time campaigning. Their voting record would be open to the public so the PEOPLE could decide to put them back into office. There would be no "grandfathering" of current Supreme Court Justices.

Localize infrastructure, assigning funding according to NEED, not population count or whose Rep has most power in the House. Local people and companies used wherever possible (not just cheapest) to boost economy; joint ownership with the public of resulting infrastructure; programs to relieve the grid by adding solar/thermal/wind to individual homes.

In exchange for big bailouts and pretty loose regulations, have wall street finance public works/ social projects. DO NOT bail out any American company ever again without some sort of legal commitment to a large public works project in the future. You cannot get bailed out on the taxpayer's dime for free.

As with cigarettes, establish advertising restrictions and tax junk food like soda, candy, snacks and dessert foods, including the table sugar and artificial sweeteners used to produce them, and use the funds to provide public education and promote healthier dietary choices. We've cut cigarette use in half. We can cut obesity and Type II diabetes as well. Through education.
