326 Ideas in Taxes & Budget

Restructure corporate income tax so that the companies that made over 200 billion dollars will pay a fair share, instead of nothing. If the Republican party is being honest about debt reduction being a priority, then they can close the tax loopholes and reduce the debt while saving Medicare, social security, and repairing the infrastructure.

Allow online taxpayers to itemize not only their tax deductions, but their tax expenditures as well. Want to fund only the Forestry Service? Go ahead! Have a fondness for the Navy? Make it your 50% priority! Those who choose not to itemize will have their tax dollars allocated by the formula Congress passes; and if no one steps up for the NSA, well, too bad so sad!

Demand that legislative lobbyists register (all levels: city, county, State, federal; all branches: legislative, executive, bureaucratic, court), with a fee - substantial - to be applied except for 3% administrative fee to any debt carried by lobbied agency. This is anyone wanting to 'talk,' other than answering a summons or completing a required form. Does not apply to someone applying for assistance under mandate of agency.

Aggressive progressive Minimum Alternative Tax on personal income starting at 10% on income over $250K and going to 90% on incomer over $25 million. And a corporate MAT. Leave the tax code alone. It is so complex for a reason. Just add and simple MAT.

Only tax land and do not tax items that are reproducible. Stop giving tax breaks to the wealthy and tax everyone according to what they earn on a level playing field; the more money you make the more taxes you pay. Stop expecting the middle class to bank roll our nation.

Restore states rights: get Fed spending under control by allowing a majority of state legislatures to vote down any federal spending bill OR regulation with cost that exceeds a certain amount... say $100 million.
