End the big banks’ control of the Fed. Despite the Fed's power over our economy, many of its key decision-makers are directly appointed by the private sector. Congress should amend the Federal Reserve Act so that banks no longer get to appoint their own regulators. Regional bank presidents should be nominated by the US President and confirmed by the Senate and should report to a board of directors who are genuine representatives of the public interest, not the financial and corporate sector.

Phase out private banking's control of the Federal Reserve Bank by incrementally repealing the 1913 agreements. Return control of the banking system to citizen and governmental economists and forbid any private bankers or their assigns from sitting on the policy board.
