CREATE A THEME PARK ON A PLAYED-OUT MOUNTAINTOP-REMOVED COAL MINE: A spectacular and unique new Appalachian theme park -- and the jobs its construction and operation would create -- should be established on the strange topography and variegated contours of a used-up mountaintop coal mine!: some creative mashup of terrain park, gothic ghostland, bowers of flowers, and/or futuristic funscape of gravity tubes, slides, chutes, and flumes.
FORM national science and technology competitions to solve problems faced by the nation and the GOVERNMENT BUREAUCRACY such as a National Competition For Defense Accounting, Auditing, and Accountability to provide new systems that actually work to enable the world's largest bureaucracy to finally audit itself and provide young people the means and incentives to develop alternative technologies and the nec. capital resources. Investigate all fraud and misappropriation by all defense contractors.
We have a poverty crisis. Not everyone can work (health, etc.) and there aren't jobs for all who urgently need one. Millions of low wage workers are on a tightrope with no safety net below. You can't get a job once you no longer have a home address, phone, bus fare. Because Americans are unwilling to help these fellow citizens, I would urge legislators to consider making it possible for those in foreign countries to provide help for our homeless, our ill, those in deep need of aid.
New Jobs have to be created that provide opportunities for people to work in a climate where computers (Digital Technology) can do almost everything. This will require investments in new areas far faster and larger than what the private sector alone can do. Solution: Give tax relief for the trillion$ parked overseas by private firms to invest that in new areas for business development inside their company or through investments in R&D parks, University research or research in Govt. labs.
Support tax abatements and interest free (current fed rate) loans for companies that expand their workforces. Get off the job killing stuff. When you legislate always as the question - will this increase the cost of employment? or decrease it? Put some teeth behind your commitment to the working men and women of this country. Employment cannot grow if companies cannot grow
Employee Abuse: Employees are subjected to extremely loud music all day long. Customers can go in and out, but the employee is stranded in a workplace that has music constantly blaring in their ears. Sometimes it is even difficult to talk to an employee without shouting. Worse offenders to name a few: Applebees, Radio Shack, JC Penneys and Burger Lounge. Margaret Momparler, San Diego, CA PS: I am going to boycott all businesses that are not aware of their employees' health and welfare.
Change the way corporations/companies are structured. Have all voting stock of a corporation owned by the people who work at the company/corp. At no time may a person who is not an employee able to own a voting share. If a person leaves the employ of the company, they must sell the stock back to the company at current net worth. To obtain operating capital the corp may sell non voting shares to the general public. Those share would be traded on NYSE, etc.
