Major infrastructure investment. Fund a sustained program of $400 billion per year in total non-military physical domestic infrastructure investment using a combination of direct federal borrowing and federal credit support for state and local programs. It would create 4 million direct jobs in place for 10 years, plus jobs created through the impact on consumer demand, plus more jobs created by manufacturing the materials and otherwise indirectly supporting this infrastructure investment.

The US has nearly ceased all major infrastructure improvements while other countries have busy installing high speed trains. A portion of our military spending should be cUT to help create jobs to improve our roads, bridges, underground pipes and railway system.

Instead of awarding bloated government contracts for weapons of war. Offer them out to rebuild our infrastructure. We will still be spending billions, but instead of making planes that don't fly or tanks that the army doesn't want, we can have bridges, subways, bullet trains etc. And make a stipulation to use only American steel, and American workforce.

Invest anywhere between $500 billion to $1 trillion in infrastructure spending to create millions of new jobs and boost economic growth over the next decade, and pay for it by taxing the wealthiest 2% of Americans.

We need to divert the excessive amount we are spending on defense to modernizing our infrastructure. We need to replace all water, gas and other utility pipes and systems in this country. We need to change to wind, water and other renewable energy sources. All government buildings, public parking areas, and the like should use solar panels to generate energy for all public buildings, community centers, homeless shelters, etc.
