Major funding for FBI and State/City police to combat sex trafficking of minors in the U.S. Extensive training in how to track down traffickers and protect children and teens from them. Punish the pimp/john NOT the underage prostitute. Minimum 15 year without parole sentences for traffickers, 5 years without parole for men who have sex with minors under 16, 10 years for having sex with minors under 12. The U.S. is a MAJOR player in underage sex trafficking. This is not some distant problem.

The world has "women's shelters." As best this woman understands, the world doesn't have a shelter solely for battered men. Battered men have only three possible options: the streets and homeless shelters, which are dangerous, or staying with their abuser.

GET THE GOV'T OUT OF MARRIAGE! It is not for the state or federal government to define marriage, but for the individuals, families, and religious organizations concerned. End the institution of "legal marriage" and the accompanying system of tax discrimination. Things like joint ownership and survivorship should be handled through individual voluntary contracts, regardless of gender.

Pass two laws to regulate guns. We lost the gun control argument in the Supreme Court. 1. All weapons sold and possessed in the US must be forensic tested and these tests must be correlated to the serial number. These tests done at manufacturer from this day forward and at testing facilities around the country to bring in compliance by a given date. 2. All weapons must comply to number one and if a person is out of compliance subject to 15 years in addition or stand alone crime.

Eschew Obfuscation. For all licences, contracts, advertisements, and similar items directed at ordinary people, make the item's legal meaning be whatever a 'reasonable person' with no specialized knowledge would beleive it to mean after perusing it carefully while ignoring anything which is difficult to comprehend for any reason (including but not limited to use of small or low-contrast print, rapid speech, use of jargon or unusual meanings of common words, or excessive length).

Motivate people to move to more sustainable areas of the country, where basic resources (like water, building materials, food, etc) ARE. Stop moving resources to inhospitable places. Grazing animals, watering lawns & golf courses, swimming pools in the desert? Piping water hundreds of miles to LA, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Tuscon? Constantly rebuilding coastal homes? Building directly upon fault lines? Tornado alley? Insane, destructive forms of liberty should be severely discouraged, if not outlawed.

Establish a "Free Box" in every town and city neighborhood across America. It benefits everyone! People can "donate" their unwanted but functional & good condition consumer goods, clothing, etc. to The Free Box. Others in need will be happy to use the donated items, especially clothing, shoes, blankets, etc. One person gets to recycle unwanted stuff instead of having to throw it away, and another person gets something they need. It's a Win-Win. Easy to set up & run but needs full time caretaker.

Inspired by President Obama's recent immigration action, I think Congress should pass a bill giving every immigrant who has lived in the U.S. for five years and made this country their home the opportunity to come forward and be recognized as such.

Our non-profit organizations who serve our communities are stretched thin and need more support to help those in need. Why not give a tax break to those who volunteer a certain number of hours per year (or more). This encourages support for the non-profits and those needing help in our communities, while also increasing involvement and ownership in reshaping and improving our communities.

Not a Government project, but a Progressive one. This country desperately needs a news outlet that is accurate, and in depth. No more punditry from journalists with a political agenda and no knowledge of the subject they're talking about. There are lots of good blogs, but they are preaching to the choir. We need something that will come to the attention of the public! With the troubles of our current media, now is a great time for a creative outfit to invent something new.

Every municipality should be required to build "tiny homes" of at least 300 sq. ft. for the homeless by 2017; including a manager and central community meeting space. The number of tiny homes should be tied to 40% of the number of homeless in the municipality in the beginning and increase by an additional 10% each year.

Establish duty of care legislation for interstate news and media corporations, requiring these entities with numerous affiliates to uphold higher ethical standards or be charged a tabloid tax. It's not regulating what is reported, but how it's reported, and emphasizing objectivity and veracity.
